Question:
POSTED, POST IT

It saddens me to hear you guys say you do not want to post because some of the anwsers are short and rude. My response is PLEASE POST anyway I do not care if it is a question that u may think is silly or ridiculous, How are we going to help each other if we do not share our life experiences or questions that concern us? I need to be honest I too have not posted because of this and I am guilty of telling one of my OH friends that Posted a question right after surgery about a pureed salad, (Brings a smile to my face) Can u imagine? I told her to becareful what she posted because they will chew you up. Or even reading when we got a English lesson on SPALLING :). When we r suppose to be here for each other not nit pick over grammer. Well here I am today and I am so thankful for this site, all the people I have met, as I am sure the people responding are. We are all different the only thing in common is that we are trying to live, every one of us does not matter if u r at goal weight at this time,10 years out or a newbie and are thinking about surgery or getting ready to join us on the Loser side. We all where over weight (are over weight) and we are all trying to survive. We all have or are thinking about some type of surgery to help us LIVE. Being over weight is miserable and I hope and pray all of you that are successful stay that way because things change in a blink of an eye. I do not believe anyone would go through what we have been through to throw it away, people slip, stressers, old eating habits sneak upon us we are human. We are here to have that person to post spill their tears and we need to pick them up. I hope that you are never that person, but then we have no one to POST LOL., I want the new person or even a senior that needs encouraging to post to feel this is a safe place to say anything if not this sight would be a waste. Listening to you guys we need to do something so I ask that we all becareful not to hurt each others feelings no matter how silly, funny ot ridiculous our questions may sound I want the new person to ask questions, not be afraid. We need to reread before sending. I have learned so much by your post's Please continue to post and to listen and respond. I also wanted to say to the people that respond sharply we need you also cause we are all IMPORTANT and we are here for everyone So hopefully we will get past this and you my friends will survive. When u fall count on us at OH and POST. AMEN! Thank you for your post. I know that i am a newbie and am waiting for my surgery date( lapband) And i do so much better when i see positive posts of encouragement. I love this website and visit it 2 or 3 times a day. When i see a negative/ rude/ bashing if you will, post, it makes me not want to read the site. But then when i see posts like above or like some others have made and encouraged others to always post, well I realize that maybe others just didn't think before they typed. I know i even posted a prayer request for my son, i realize that it was not a WLS issue, and maybe there was some other place i should have posted it, but the outpouring of positive comments and all the prayers, well my stress level began to subside, my emotional eating got better and well the best thing of all ALL OF OURS PRAYERS WERE ANSWERED! My son is doing better.SO thank you for this site, and thank you for your support. I know i am preop but i am excited to say i have lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks and looking forward to continuing my weight loss journey and i know i can't do it alone,SO i will be around alot on this wonderful website. And Tammi, congratulations on your weightloss!! sincerely, Cora

I managed an online community with over 10,000 people worldwide and through it all we managed to keep things healthy & foster a warm and supportive environment where people never had to be afraid of being attacked. I have seen a lot of posts here that are absolutely NOT supportive in any way and for that reason I don't post often. When I do I don't go back and look at replies because I don't want to read any negative attacks. Life is too short for that stuff.

Amen! This is supposed to be a safe place so to speak. This is a new year so let's all take care and be kind, regardless of the post and/or question. We all can learn no matter how far out we are. Be kind in 09!
