no my dear.. it wont.. usually this surgery makes you start it in the hospital.. but it wont change your surgery date.. :)

Nope. I got mine period the day before surgery. The only restriction was, the hospital I was in does not allow patients to wear tampons during surgery.

Absolutely not! I had my cycle a few days before the surgery and because of the stress on my body, my cycle didn't return for a couple of months, but when it did, it was with a vengence (making up for loss time).

MY SURGERY WAS ON 11/18/02 & I UNFORTUNATELY GOT MY PERIOD THE DAY BEFORE!!!!! I WAS TERRIBLY EMBARRASED BUT IT SURELY DIDNT STOP MY SURGERY

If you think about it, at any given time 25% of pre-menopausal women have their period, including during surgery. I would let your surgeon know about it but only so they can tell you what to do about it during surgery and to make it easier for you to take care of things right after surgery. It's natural and nothing to be embarassed about.

I had my heavy flow day the day of surgery! It seemed that my period just waited a few extra days to happen so I could have the full blast for hospitalization. One thing I did do that made me feel more comfortable is shave so it is easier to have someone clean me up ( yeah it is hard to do after surgery) and I brought those nice night time pads. Most hospitals have those disposable mesh net panties and it beats getting yours all messed up. Isn't it great to be a woman? Surgery won't be prevented by your period..and believe me, I don't think that there isn't anything those OR nurses haven't dealt with yet! :) Good luck with your surgery!
