I would assume that he would immediately order a cat scan with dye and find out immediately if this is the case. Has he ordered any ASAP testing? Will be thinking of you.

Oh, to add something...they thought I had a bowel obstruction also, went to the ER and had the cat scan, found out I was impacted. It really is important to test right away. Take care!!

Hi Jen. I have had a intestional blockage and had to have surgery for it. In my case, the pain was severe and almost constant, rather than periodical. I orginally went to the ed and the doc there wanted to 'wait and see' what would happen. I got ahold of my rny surgeon and he told me that gastric bypass patients are not like the normal person in that respect and cant just 'wait and see'. Do the tests the doctor suggests. It was not as horrible as people may tell you and I am alive today because I listened to the right doc. Take care and if you have an questions you would like to ask, let me know. Good luck in your wls journey. Julie M

i had a internal hernia. I had a ct scan and x-ray but they showed nothing, I have an awesome surgeon who said the pain was not normal, I had internal hernias and my intestines became twisted. My stomach hurt really bad after eating, mostly like a cramping pain that went through to my back, started about 20 minutes after eating and lasted half hour. after she fixed my inteestines I didnt have anymore pain. It is important to get tested even if noting shows up dont ignore the pain and also these are all very serious issues which sheould never be taken lightly . Good luck and let us know.

I would think that if you had a bad obstruction, you would not be on the computer typing but in the hospital. However, you might have blocked up your pouch eating too fast or not chewing enough. Its simple, you will either puke, or you will get it worked through, either way, you will have to work it through so that you can eat. I have had it bad enough that I could not eat or drink for a few days. Kim
