Question:
How much does yoga tighten up skin?
I had open RNY on March 27, 2002...MY start weight was 265lbs..I am now down to 189lbs..total loss of 76lbs..I am starting to get flabby looking thighs and arms(arms are really bad). I have been looking into yoga classes..Will this help at all with these areas? If not what exercises will help? I do have a apron too..but I have noticed that most of my weight is coming off of my upper body first...my belly doesn't seem to be loosing..Any help would be appreciated..Thanks — Debbie S. According tothe plastic surgeon I just consulted, only two things make your
skin contract--youth and really good genes. I am old and the genes
apparently aren't there either so I am eagerly awaiting goal weight and
reconstruction.<p>exercise helps by building underlying muscle but
the skin has been stretched beyond endurance. I am wearing a size 18 skin
on a size 8 body. Sheesh!

I've taken yoga classes for quite a while now, and I don't think it has
anything to do with skin tightening. But what it does do is increase
flexibility, build strength, improve your posture and breathing and just
make you feel better.
