Question:
Bad news?

I went for my preop testing today and the gentleman that did my ultrasound said I have a kidney stone. Will this prevent me from having surgery? I have a date in two weeks that I have waited four months for...    — Marcy G. (posted on April 15, 2003)

First DONT PANIC, it likely wouldnt delay things at all. May require a follow up test. Stones are common in MOs, most report they drink little water and nearly all pop:( I have a MO olds girlfriend like that. Her dad suggests she gets WLS and I inquired if stones were a problem and was told not a biggie. Now go drink some water and call your surgeon.You will have toi work very hard to get the wayter in so you dont get more of them.

Talk to your surgeon but no I doubt it will. The surgery to remove stones is very severe so they very rarely do it, it is mostly a wait and see thing. They wait to see if you are going to pass it or what. I can not see how this can effect your surgery as it could take days, or months. I had a stone after surgery, we wont go there, however I can not see how it would have effected my surgery at all other than it was painful.
