Question:
Does anyone have a good recipe for a protein shake using unflavored protein powder?

I am 3 1/2 weeks postop and down 35 pounds. I still have my G-tube and have been taking advantage of it. I use it to consume my medications, vitamins, and protein powder (mixed with H2O). I have tried to mix it with milk, 1/2 froz banana and artificial sweetener, but it is still barely palatable. I will most likely have my G-tube removed next Friday and am desperate to find a way to get my protein in without becoming ill. Any suggestions or recipes would be greatly appreciated.    — Karen K. If you're using ProCel, it'll mix with water and go right into your tube, yes? If you have something that, or else that is clumpy instead, go to the protein list for ideas. One of the creative persons there can help you with it. The very LAST thing you want is milk + banana, the classic weight gain recipe. Be sure to mention the brand name http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OSSG-Protein/

I just answered the other question about protein... here was my post... I love the Labrada shakes... It took me a long time to find ones I did not dread drinking. I got a ton of samples from wlssupplies.com. They always have new stuff to try so when I order my regular stuff I get samples of their new drinks and snacks.

I use the "Any Whey" tasteless protein powder to make decaf iced coffee. I take 2 tsp of decaf instant coffee, a scoop of the powder (17g of protein), and sweet n' low to taste in a sports bottle of water from my cooler--3-4 cups of water. I add skim milk to lighten it. I guess you could add a second scoop of powder. I take this in the car with me and drink it on my way to work. It's not fancy, but it's a way to get in extra protein and liquid while I am driving.
