Question:
TUMMY TUCK SWELLING QUESTION

Hi, my mom had a tummy done and she said her hips are bigger now than they were before surgery. She said her doctor said it was normal and it could take 3 months for all the swelling to go down. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks, Kelly*    — Kelly* P. (posted on February 18, 2004)

Yes! I am having lots of problems with my swelling, but it is finally going down some, my legs swelled up like turkey drum sticks and I gained well over 10lbs, which I lost almost all of that now and my legs are normal too. My PS said it could take months also. Good luck to your mom!

The swelling is perfectly normal. My swelling wasn't completely gone for at least six months and then after that my lower abdomin would be swollen in the evening when I got home from work.

I was swollen for about 5 weeks. As the time goes on, you will continue to see an improvement in the way you look.

I would say that most of my patients who ahve the larger tummy tucks plus lipo will follow Pamela B's experience. JL
