Question:
What is the best time of day to take lexapro?

I heard it makes some people sleepy and wondered if I should take it at night.    — CAROL M. (posted on October 6, 2005)

Hi, I take Lexapro at night because I find in the morning it makes me too groggy to function properly, so I use it to "help" sleep along... hope this helps you!

I used to take Lexapro (before surgery) and I would take it in the evening hours

I take Lexapro at bedtime, too, as it helps me sleep better. I have been taking it for about 18 months and think it is great.

I have been taking Lexapro for quite awhile and I have always taken it shortly before bedtime. It makes me sleepy and relaxed so to take it in the morning would not be good. It was recommended by my doctor that I do it in the evening to help relax me.

Hi Carol, I take 30mg of Lexapro in the morning. My doctor said it can effect people differently, some take it in the AM and some in the PM. I already suffer from sleeping issues, and the Lexapro seemed to distrub my sleep more. I get no drowsiness effect from it at all. Probably the opposite!! Good luck, Sara

I take lexapro at night. It is sedating to me. Be sure not to take lexapro time release.
