Question:
Pain in thighs!

I have been experiencing pain in the top portion of both my thighs for about 6 weeks now. It only hurts right after I get up from sitting down, right in the bend where your leg connects with your torso. It hurts to stand straight and then after I walk around for a few minutes I'm OK. Has this happened to anyone else and did you seek medical help for it and if so what did they say? Thanks bunches!!!    — Keishia R. (posted on October 29, 2003)

when this happened to me, I went to my chiropractor. Turned out the weight of my panni (which was distributing itself differently from what it was at a heavier weight) had caused my pelvic to rotate. Three adjustments and the pain was GONE! I highly recommend you see a chiro. :>)

Shortly after my Lap-RNY I experienced an extreme tingling in my thighs. It felt like my legs were falling asleep all of the time. When I would lay down, it turned into outright pain. My doctor said it was a condition called Meralgia Paresthetica, which can be caused by excess weight. It's like an impact injury, but insteady of being caused by an injury, it's caused by the thighs carrying so much weight. The good news is that it goes away by itself. My problem lasted about a month. The bad news is that there's nothing you can do for it in the meantime. Check it out on the web. Lots of information is available about it. Hopefully, your not suffering from anything more severe. But if this is the problem, it will go away.

I had that problem last month. I was taking Calcium Carbonate in the form of OsCal and Viactiv. The pain went away a couple weeks after switching to 100% Citrate tablets. You really should check w/ your Surgeon though.
