Question:
For you larger busted ladies. A question on good support bras.
I live in a very rural area so don't have access to any place that specificly deals with bras for larger women. Usually I just shop by catalog for that reason. I used to buy bras one size smaller in cup and band for added support but it seems now I get more of a bulge type of look at the edges of my bra now, not flattering. None of the bras I have tried support very well. The underwire bras I've tried, although do support more just kill me. And the sports bras make me feel like I look squished flat, not flattering either. I could REALLY use some advise from you larger chested woman out there on some good brands of support bras. Oh what a pain this problem is!!!! It took me forever and about a million
dollars to find a bra that I liked. And now that I have lost 100lbs, I'm
getting close to not being able to buy these any more. The ones they sell
at Lane Bryant are the best I have ever found. Not the cheap ones, but
they have a real good cotton line by Cacique. Not only are these the best
fitting ones I could ever find, they are a stretchy cotton, and strong,
they also come in super cool colors with matching undies. Another tough
find in 'big-boned girl' sizes. You cant order them from the cataloge,
those are different and cheap feeling. I always had problems with the
wires coming out after i wore it one or two times. Never have had that
problem with these. I'm not sure how large they go, or how large you need,
but it may be worth a call. They are two for $40.00 usually. Thats really
not bad considering I have spent a fortune on worthless junk.

I agree with the previous poster...the Cacique bras from Lane Bryant are
awesome...so comfortable and very supportive. I'm still pre-op and wear
them all the time...great colors, patterns, and a wide range of sizes.

Lane Bryant and Roamans carry a brand call Goddess. They are confortable
and give you a natural lift. They cost a little more but they last longer
than the cheap ones.

I used to pay a fortune for bras, but found one style of Just My Size that
fits, supports and flatters (as much as possible at this point, lol). It
has a wide padded arm band and no padding in the cup (I hate that!). They
can be found at Walmart.

EBAY is an excellent place to pick up any clothing by Lane Bryant---I find
bras on here for a fraction of the price they are in the stores---they are
new, with tags--either a return or a close out---happy shopping!

I too have tried TONS of bras. I finally found one I like, and even after
losing over 100 lbs, I still buy the same kind. They have shoulder straps
that are cushioned, so the pain there is minimal, but the support is GREAT!
You can go to the Roaman's website (www.roamans.com) and find them,
they're called "Lasting Comfort Strap Bra" and they sell for
$17.99. The sizes range from 38B-50DDD. VERY WORTH the price. Playtex
also sells the same type--you can get them at Walmart, for about the same
price I believe. They look exactly the same, but I don't know what
Playtex's style is called. If you don't care about having fancy or pretty
bras, I'd go with these.

I am extremely large busted and I simply cannot get a bra in a store. I
buy from a company called Colesce Couture and they are pricey. They are
really well constructed and last for a really long time. They are sold
through independant consultants, like the Avon Lady of lingerie. You can
go to www.colesce.com to find a consultant near you and they will usually
come to your house with a suitcase of bras that you can try on. The best
part is that they do not have ANY underwires and they go up to very, very
large sizes!

I have to say it has been years since I wore a regular bra. I was (then)
wearing a 42DD. All I ever wear now are sports bras. No binding, no hooks
poking, no hard strap cutting into my shoulder, and no sinking to my waist
(ya know). I admit not all stores will carry these sports bras big enough
at a reasonable price. I find the best bargin, on the ones that work well,
at Targit. I don't know if you have that where you live. But, a size 2x to
4x depending on brand name is perfect.. and no bulging out the sides. Good

You might also want to check out "A Big Attitude" at their
website: www.abigattitude.com They offer some very nice exercise outfits,
including quality sports bras. I love the sports bra I bought from them and
plan to buy more, more, more when the budget allows.
