Question:
Who has had their surgery at Clovis, Ca Community Hospital

I had read that some hospital supply a lot of things. I was wondering if anyone has had their surgery there and what did they supply. I am trying to make my overnight bag as empty as possible. Thanks for your help. Danielle    — Danielle A. (posted on November 12, 2002)

I had my surgery at Clovis and had a very good experience. You really only need to bring your own essentials, toothbrush, makeup, comb brush etc. They supply hospital gowns that are very roomy and comfortable. You should take your own robe for walking in the halls. They have showers in the rooms, but supply you with sudsless shampoo so you might like to take your own. They supply all meds. I hardly used any of the things that I packed in my bag and then we just had to lug it all home.

I, too, had my surgery at Clovis Community and have to agree with the previous poster...all you really need to take is your toiletries and robe. They supply you with warm socks so you won't even need to take slippers for hall walking. My experience with them was positive, aside from my unbelievably loud and idiotic roommate, which obviously wasn't their fault. When I requested a room change they did their best to accommodate me and managed to find me a new room. Best of luck to you!

I had my surgery at Clovis Hospital. They supplied almost everything I needed. I did use my own hair brush and slippers(non-slip sole). They provided a tray with toothpaste/toothbrush, deoderant, lotion, comb. I used their gowns, and used a second one for a robe. I would STRONGLY suggest taking your own pillow, maybe even two of them. The pillows there SUCK. Take something comfy to wear home, not zip up pants, lol. The staff there is GREAT! When is your surgery? Who is your surgeon? We have a local support group that meets monthly, we would love to have you join us. Email me any time. Best of luck to you, Debbie Iler.

I had my surgery at Clovis and I had a horrible experience. Yes, they supply everything but I used my own. I took a robe, toothpaste, chapstick, brush and some reading material. You can check my profile or email me for details. If you can have someone with you, it might be best. They do have the most awesome nurse from New Zealand. You couldn't pay me to have surgery at that hospital again.

Clovis was wonderful- and I took the full tour. After developing a life threatening infection at Fresno Surgery Clinic, I was transferred to Clovis for a 2nd surgery, cat scans, a trip through ICU, and 10 days on the ward. My care was exceptional, the nurses and staff caring and compassionate. I would go there for care again in a heartbeat!
