Surgery Postponed, Will I Need to Resubmit for Approval? Cigna
Since my surgery has been postponed , do I have to reapply to Cigna for coveragewhen my surgery is scheduled again ? — ruthie (posted on March 18, 2003)

Most insurance companies give a window of time for which the approval is
good. Mine provided a 6 month window. Read your letter carefully to see
what it says. Why postponed??

Don't worry I have cigna and they use authorization numbers for surgery
once the hospital has that number it does not mader what date they use.
Your approved don't worry be happy.

i agree with april. i work for an insurance company and we give 90 days.
if it's over that time and you or the doctor do not call to give the new
date, you are penalized. so better be safe than sorry, give them a call
and inquire! good luck
