Question:
Can someone help me find a PCP that supports WLS in or around Ocala, Florida?

I have been to two PCP's now, and neither one is supportive of WLS. I have a BMI of 53.3 w/co-morbidities. My first PCP wrote a letter of medical necessity, but then refused to do any follow through (doesn't believe in WLS); the second one says, "I put it in writing, there isn't anything else I can do." Hi. My Mom is a nurse in Ocala, FL. My parents have lived there for 15 years. She told me that there is a Bariatric Center at Ocala Regional Hospital. Dr. Chandra is the bariatric surgeon. The number to Ocala Regional is 352-401-1000. I would at least call them and tell them that you have it in writing from your PCM that WLS is medically necessary for you.
