Question:
Has anyone ever had the ISOPURE shakes from GNC?

If you did how did you fix it? I bought the Chocolate today and it says to mix it with water? I thought I heard some people say they made it with milk.    — Jill S. (posted on January 7, 2004)

I couldn't stand it with water. If you mix it with 8oz of fat free or skim milk it adds 8 grams of protein (I think the protein is right but double check the milk jug) If you use 2% or whole it makes it to thick to blend and you have to add more of course with doing that you add more fat to the whole shake. Try the PREMIXED isopure that they sell it works out better and then there is only 16 ounces to drink instead of the big amount of shake.

I made mine with water, but I like nectar protein shakes better. Isopure is my second choice. I had to keep stirring it because it had a tendancy to settle.

If you are getting the low carb Isopure, I found it was pretty good, a little thin, and if I didn't rinse my cup immediately, required a hammer and chisel to remove! I drink mine with water as adding milk to protein shakes is not recommended by a lot of long term post ops due to the unnecessary calories and carbs in the form of milk sugar, especially if you do more than one a day. I also suggest you NOT buy it from GNC as I paid $54.95 for a 2lb pkg from GNC and got it from vitalady.com for about $25-30...even adding shipping was way cheaper.

ISOPURE is all I really have done for the last 6 mo. I get it in Vanilla because you can make it any flavor you want. How I make it is I use 4 oz of Orange juice 2 oz of water put it in the blender. Then 3 frozen strawberries 2 packets of sweet n low blend then I add a few frozen raspberries and a scoop of the powder and blend some more. I only drink 6 oz in the am and 6 oz in the night that will make me drink 50 grams of protein for the day. I do the no sugar, no crabs, ISOPURE. I do not buy from GNC anymore it's way to high. I get it from http://www.supplementhq.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=45&HS=1 $24.99 I also like the ready to drink ISOPURE in the glass bottles. I drink grape frost & Blueberry ONLY. I hope this info helps ya. Janine PS: Oh, this does NOT make me gain weight. I have lost pretty good -135 in 6 mo. YIPPEE!!!

I use vanilla (as you can change the flavor) I mix it with My Atkins shake since it only has 20 grams of protein so I get 70+ Protein. I also at times add 1/2 bananas (I have low postassium) or cherries (Low carb) or 1/2 an apple. But you do need to wash your glass right away - that stuff is like sand imbedded in glass LOL

Hi, The Zero Carb Isopure Protein Powder is all I've used for 7 months. I use the Vanilla and mix it with either Diet Snapple Srawberry-Kiwi or Crystal Light Strawberry-Kiwi instead of water to give it a little extra flavor. I also add half a bannana and two frozen strawberries, about a cup of ice and put it all in a blender. It is very good! I started at 248 on 2/7/03 and am now 130, so it works for me. Oh, and I have 2 a day.

I have used the Isopure low carb chocolate for the past 11 mos. I mix it with 4 oz of water and 2 oz of 1% milk. I buy a 7 lb. tub for $53.99 plus shipping through supplement warehouse on-line. Best of luck as you continue your journey.
