Question:
I would like to know if anyone has purchased a treadmill for exercise

I am going to buy a treadmill next week. I am 5 weeks postop and I need to exercise in the house because it is too hot to walk outside. I am really considering a pacemaster treadmill. Does anybody know about these treadmills?    — Teresa S. (posted on June 7, 2002)

Teresa, my husband bought me one for Christmas and I have probably been on it a total of 4 times. Before he purchased it, I was looking into buying one in the "for sale" section of the newspaper classifieds. There are usually very good deals and you don't have to pay so much. I am currently pre-op, but when I go to my consultation next week will probably have to put it to work. GOOD ... it's about time I have a reason to use it. Good luck to you.

I purchased a professional Precor 9.1 that someone was selling in the paper. I can tell you how great it is. Especially if it is too hot out. I can get a better workout because I don't have to worry about falling like I do outside, so I can go faster. Sometimes I even run.

I bought a treadmill from Nordic Trac (the 7100R). It is quiet and smooth and by far the best I have seen around. You can buy it from the company directly with payments if you need to. Just a thought...

I too bought a Pro-Form 585 Treadmill. It was a used and had less than 20 miles on it. I know this because I bought it from my next-door neighbor. New it retailed at $600.00. I paid $250.00 (gladly) It's a great machine. I started walking in February, but by May the Florida heat and humidity was too much to handle. So, I'm on that baby twice a day now. I do 2 miles in the AM and 2.5 in the PM, 5 days per week at 3.9mph! I strongly recommend a treadmill for a good workout. Just click that ceiling fan to high and pop on the stereo...
