Question:
Anyone have Aetna and been approved with BMI 35 with Co-Morbs.

I have seen the Dr. and he said he would preform the RNY-Lap. I have a BMI of 35 -36 with sleep apnea, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, reflux. Dr. says I don't weigh enough but he would be willing to do the surgery. His words were "If you were my sister I would try to talk you out of this". I wish people like him would understand you don't have to weigh alot to feel terrible, and feel fat. I have Aenta Ins. Anyone have similar case and had success or failer in approval proccess. Please tell me your experience.    — Wendy G. (posted on November 12, 2001)

YES!!! My employer offers Aetna and my co-worker, also registered on this site (she's the one who showed it to me) has had Open RNY with a BMI under 40 and comorb's! She got approved on the first try! Look in the "insurance" portion of this site and look under Aetna Insurance. After one year of having it done, she looks FABULOUS! GOOD LUCK!!!
