Question:
Where do I look for those 350 lbs. and over

I was wanting to know if there is a place to read about mainly those that started out at 350 and over? By the way, I've lost 152 lbs. in one year! Still 50 more to go. It's sure slow going now and I worry that I'm able to eat way to much now. I guess we all worry about that! Thanks, Deb Holder    — Deb H. (posted on January 19, 2002)

Nope, we're all thrown in here together. I think mainly because....regardless of how much we weigh, or have lost, we all have to fight the same fight. No one has it any easier or any harder based on their starting weight.

I am about to have the surgery myself. I do not have a date yet but have a verbal approval. Last I weighed was 331. I know I have gained more but I can't weigh myself anymore. So I must be pretty close to the 350 lbs also. I would appriciate if you could share your expierences with me.

i started at 463 and am maintaining at 185 right now. there is no where on this site to search for folks starting higher numbers. I know there are a lot of people here that started at 350+. Cindy Lou, Donna Williams and a lot more. You can do a name search by first or last name. Yahoogroups has a 400+ list of folks that have high BMIs and high start weights that is very active and has over 400 members. Hugs, Rita in Vermont RNY 3/31/94 then 463/Now 185

I can relate to this! Yes we may all be thrown in together and all the same, but I have to agree it is much more easy for me to relate to someone who has 200+ to lose. What is most important for me with those number is how far someone is able to get. I hear soo often about the window of opportunity, for someone needing to lose 200 pounds, that can fall well outside the window. I like seeing and hearing about those who have lost these amounts and are able to maintain. Dont get me wrong, I celebrate with the rest of you in your weight loss and would not even think it was not a great accomplishment. My friend had 100 pounds to lose.. did it in 5 months... That AINT happening to me.... Thank you soo much for your post.

I started at 407 pounds 10 months ago. I've lost 160+ lbs. so far and am down to 246. It's depressing to me, because 246 is where a lot of people on this board are STARTING! But I am pleased with my progress and believe I will make it to goal. I am 5'9", so my goal was 173, but I recently adjusted my goal to a more achievable 190. That means I have 56 pounds to go, and--after you've lost 160--this seems like nothing!
