Question:
Ladies - will my boobs / breasts ever get smaller and match the new, smaller me?

Hi! I've about 5 months post-op, and have gone from 274 to 204 (70 lbs). I've gone from a tight 24 to a 16 now. My measurements are pretty good except for my chest. I was a 46 DD at surgery, I'm now a tight 40D. Everything I wear seems like I'm Dolly Parton, that their size is sooooo much bigger than the rest of me. Post-ops, has anyone shrunk a bit more? Have you noticed this too? I can wear shirts from Old Navy and Target but it's like my boobs are the main attraction, you know? (And they're very floppy, not solid, which I've read about too- the old "tubesock" syndrome). I really don't want to have a bood job, planning to breastfeed next baby whenever that happens and don't want to mess with the plumbing, if you know what I mean. Any advice, common concerns, would be appreciated. THANKS!!! =)    — Sarah C. (posted on July 24, 2002)

Hi, I am almost 10 months out. I started out at 271 and I am down to 162. When I first started my boobs were still a whopping size of 46DD, now I am a really small size of 38C.. It s cheaper on the bras because I can buy them right off the retail racks now lol. But my DH he misses that extra cushion he says lol. Oh well, I plan on having a lift after awhile. I hope I stay this size and not go any smaller, but if I do, oh well. I look much better and feel much better.... My life has changed dramatically.... Good luck and god bless........

Sarah - CONGRATULATIONS on your wonderful weight loss! Regarding your question - when I was in junior high school, I was a size 10 and had 40D breasts. I received a lot of "unwanted" attention then! You do feel more self conscious when your chest is sticking out there. In 2000, I had a breast reduction hoping that I would be motivated to lose weight. Of course, that did not solve my problems. I had WLS on May 28th this year. I have lost about 45 pounds and feel great; however, I have lost ALL of my boobs (38B). I wish I hadn't had that breast reduction two years ago. I WANT THEM BACK! Be proud of what you have! If you do decide to have breast augmentation, definitely don't do it till you have had ALL the children you desire. I have lost most sensation in my breasts (especially the nipples)and my doctor told me that breast feeding would never be an option I could consider. Good luck to you!

Boy, oh boy, do I feel your pain....I started at 316, wearing a 46II, now, at 176, I wear a 38F, but can wear the 40DD if I can find them in the store, but they are loose around the chest. I'm wearing a size 14 now in pants, and I still don't tuck my shirts because it makes them look even bigger (even more than before because of my smaller waist and butt). They do look better than pre-sugery, more in proportion (while clothed, that is - naked, OMG, I could probably tie them around my neck) but they're still huge. I started the process of getting insurance approval for a reduction a couple of weeks ago. The only advice I can give, is either try a minimizing bra, or enjoy the attention! Good Luck and congrats on your success thus far!

I didn't start out so big but 46D was big ENOUGH. :) I lost hardly anything in my chest until the last 15 pounds. BOY was I disappointed! LOL I am now a 36B according to Victoria's Secret. As far as the lack of "solidity" I know what you mean! I'll let you in on a "skinny secret:" Those padded bras are NOT just to increase the size of your boobs--they give you a nice firm rounded look. Nobody can tell the actual state of my boobs by looking at me in clothes! Also, when you get smaller, the underwires don't dig into you like they did when you were bigger. That helps shape things up, too. Good luck stoppin' the floppin'! =)

I had a breast reduction/lift 8 years ago and was able to breastfeed after. It depends on if they sever the milk ducts. That is something you would have to discuss with the surgeon. But it can be done! pre-op breast 38DD, post-op breast 38C, pre-op WLS 44D, post-op WLS 159 lbs. and 36B! Love them!! (the lift is still working for me!)

....forgot to tell ya, the 36B's were 'hotdogs' that had to be rolled into the bra. My friend asked, "Can't 'they' do something for that?" lol
