Question:
How do we know if we're 100 lb. overweight?

How do you determine if your 100 pounds overweight? Is there a chart or something that we can get to see if we are 100 pounds overweight? What is this based on? Thanks a bunch :o)    — meltedbuttr (posted on November 3, 2002)

When you enter the web site the second page has a BMI calculator link. It will tell if you are over weight , Morbid obese, ect. More than likely if your BMI is over 40 you are at least 100 pounds over weight.

Every insurance company has a different chart. I'd call yours and ask. Most use the Met Life chart, but some are different. Mine, for example, says that at 5' tall, you should weigh 100 pounds and then add 5 pounds per inch over that. This is quite a bit lower than even the Met Life scale.
