If you're an Ontario resident, or a resident of any other province in Canada, the RNY is covered 100% by the province's medicare (OHIP, in your case), provided that you have a BMI of 40 or more. The problem is, there is usually a wait of at least 2 years for the surgery, because so few surgeons perform the procedure in Canada. You could try Dr. Patrick Yau or Dr. Jack Joffe in Scarborough... they have excellent reputations.
