hi there :) i think it depends on alot of things like your height, frame, where and how you carry the weight and muscle tone. all that good stuff! :)

My daughter-in-law wears a size 12, and she weighs about 174lbs, alot depends on how the clothers are made. I have been shopping with her and she has to get a 14, I think the better the clothes the smaller size you can wear, like Walmart you would wear a 14 and Macy's a 12. Hope this helps.

Who cares what the scale says if the size 12 fits? I'm one of those people who have chosen to basically ignore the scale in favor of watching the clothing sizes drop. I had surgery on 12/28/01. Started in TIGHT size 24 or normal size 26. I'm currently swimming in my 14's, a bit loose in my 12's and a bit snug in my 10's. I have an abdominal hernia that I'll be having repaired in the next month and my doctor assures me that I will lose a pant size following the procedure. Now, according to the scale, I'm 162 pounds at 5'5" tall. I feel great, I'm looking pretty good and I'm wearing normal sized clothing for the first time in more than a decade. To me, THAT'S what really counts. Take care.

I think this is one of those questions with no real answer. It depends on your frame, where most of the weight is, how tall you are. I am 5'9" down from 310 (size 26-28) to 185 and am in a solid size 14. However, I could probably get in a 12 top, and 12 pants in the but and legs....still need the 14 due to the excess skin from my 125 pound weight loss. I think another 10-15 pounds (if I loose it from my stomach I could be in 12).

Amen to Pam! Forget about the scale. I believe it can be our worst enemy. Prior to WLS I made myself crazy hopping on and off several times a day to see if I lost anything and then when I didn't I'd say forget it and go off my diet!! Now, after surgery, I do not have a scale and only weigh in at the Doctor's office (or maybe at the health club once in a while) but if I'm on a plateau, I don't know it because I'm not getting on the scale every day! By the way, I'd kill to be a size 12!! Good Luck!

I am 5'5 1/2", weigh 152 and have a medium frame. I am wearing a M top and 10-12 pants. Fitting into the 10's better. I do have a pair of 12 Lee's Original relaxed jeans that are very comfortable. I would say for me it was around 155-165??? Hope that helps.

I am 5'5" tall and weigh 172. I have always had a stout muscular look, especially in my legs. Now I still have the muscle, just a leaner look. I can wear size 12s and 14s. Most of my size 14s, especially dress clothes are becoming too big. I can wear 12 very comfortably if they are relaxed fit. They look nice. I understand your question completely. I'm looking forward to gettin into a size 10, expecially since that is what size my sister wears. I wonder what I'll weigh when I can wear them.
