Question:
Weight Training and Weigh Ins

Hi all, I am returning to the gym this week (am almost 5 weeks postop) and will slowly incorporate weight training into my routine. I have done weight training in the past and I know it has a profound affect on body fat percentage as well as losing inches. However, I know that the scale begins to become useless as a measurement. Since that is what my dr uses, I'm afraid of what impact it will have on what is looked at as my "progess". Anyone else have this issue?    — susanje (posted on February 10, 2003)

Explain to your doctor what you are doing. If he's brighter than a lump of coal then he already knows that muscle weighs more than fat.

I am having the same problem everytime I go to the gym and do the treadmill and the machine they have I loose no weight. I do lose inches, very frustrating....
