Question:
Pregnant ONLY 8 months AFTER surgery - can anyone relate with me?????

Most doctors say it's ok to get pregnant in 1-2 years after WLS. I got pregnant 8 months after. Am now 6 months along and have only gained 2lbs. Does anyone have experiences to share????    — Dana H. (posted on February 20, 2003)

I became pregnant 3 months post-op. I am now 27 weeks pregnant (due mid-may) and 9 months post op. I have not gained anything with my pregnancy so far, and I wasn't really expecting too. The baby is healthy, and my OB is measuring the baby's growth by ultrasounds. He is not concerned with my weight loss, as long as my blood tests are normal, and the baby is growing. What does your OB say? He/She would know best, and as long as you eat, and your tests come back normal I am sure everything is great. Email me if you want to chat.

Hi. I've seen Qs&As about this subject quite a few times during the time I've been a member of AMOS. Why don't you check the Library for others who have talked about this. You can email the others who have already been there.

I TOO BECAME PREGNANT 3 MONTHS POST OP WITH VBG. MY PREGNANCY WAS GREAT. ACTUALLY IT WAS BETTER THIS TIME THAN WHEN I WAS PREGNANT PREOP! I HAD A HEALTHY BABY. I DID GAIN AROUND 22 POUNDS. MOST OF THE WEIGHT STARTED AFTER MY 5TH MONTH. BUT I LOST IT ALL AFTER DELIVERY! I HAVE NOTICED THAT I CAN HOLD A LITTLE MORE FOOD THAN I COULD BEFORE PREGNANCY. MAKE SURE YOU GET ALL OF YOUR PROTEIN IN THOUGH!!!
