Question:
Is Anyone Else Going Through This Or Have Gone Through It?

Do any of you wonder if the surgery may not be working for you? I worry about this 24/7. I promised myself not to compare with others on weightloss however, I'm now wondering if the surgery isn't working for me....Because of how much liquid( can of lowfat soup) I am able to take in and the amouth of time it takes to drink it all(1/2 hour to 45 min). I'm very hungry a lot and I question this all the time? Thanks in advance everyone! Josii*    — meltedbuttr (posted on March 4, 2003)

The hungry thing is what threw me as well. Everyone was saying they were not hungry, but I was hungry pretty much right away. I can't predict your journey, but I can tell you that I am 18 months out and weight 144 pounds right now. On surgery day, I weighed 287 and 340 at my highest ever. I still lose a pound or so a month. Hunger, plateaus and slow loss did not stop my progress. Have faith, follow the rules and in almost all cases, you will be a success.

Thinking that the surgery will not work for you is a very common fear. Most of us "think" it, if not verbalize it. It all stems from those years of weight loss and gain and repeating the process over and over. We always regained what we lost and more. So why should this work for us? Well, it does if you follow the rules of the Pouch. Your still very new and on liquids. When you get to solids, you will get full and not be hungry all the time. Just follow the rules and you will be fine!
