Question:
I am 5 weeks postop, when will it be safe for me to start taking my fosamax again?

This is a question you really should ask your surgeon and/or PCP.

When I had my PCP read thru all the literature again, we decided that I was too high risk to take it. Because it is special and has special instructions, be sure they read through everything and remind him of your pouch size again.
