Question:
Post ops: Anyone use Yasmin brand birth control?

Are there any post ops out there that use (or have used) Yasmin brand birth control pills? If so, what is your experience. Anyone gain weight, get acne, get pregnant using it? Please let me know positive or negative. Thank you all.    — Happy I. (posted on July 19, 2003)

Hi Lisa! I've been on Yasmin since I had my last daughter, a little over 2 years. I haven't had any problems at all with it. I really like it because it's a low dose. No weight gain, acne or getting pregnant while on it. I hope I've helped a little. STEPHANIE OPEN RNY 3/17/03 -75 lbs

Hi...this is good news for me to read. My doc just put me on Yasmin...I haven't even gotten to the date where I can start it. But it's good to know it's not a "weight-gainer" type BC pill. Also, I don't need acne at age 49 either! (same goes for getting pregnant) LOL So it's working okay for gastric bypass patients? Absorption is okay, etc.?

My GYN doesn't feel comfortable that postop pouches can or do absorb enough of the BCP to make it effective, so she prescribed the BC patch for me - I'm finding I like it better than the pill; you only change it once a week and I haven't gained any weight from it so far.

Hi there. I started Yasmin about 3 months post op. My gyne told me Yasmin is marketed as the BC pill that helps you to lose weight. So far no acne, no weight stall or gain. Good luck!
