I had ordered protein by mail, but found after surgery I could also get good stuff in the local health food store. Just make sure it's sugar-free. All particulars including serving sizes is on label. You should easily find powders giving you 20 grams of protein for each 100 cal. serving or so, which means three of those a day will be adequate for your protein.

Hi, I use the EAS Carb control prepackaged drinks. They come in little boxes and have 15 grams of protein. I love them. They recently came out with an Orange pineapple flavor that has become my favorite. They are much better than any powder I have tasted. You can get them at Wal-Mart in a 4-pack for around $6, sometimes even a bonus pack wiht six of them, for the same price. Hope this helps

I have a great source for my protein drinks. My profile has a website link. My favorite is Champion Pure Whey in chocolate. It is delicious. I have 3 a day. Prices are the best I have found. Good Luck.

Go to Vitalady.com....she has samples you can order to try out the different protien drinks. Some people like one, and hate the other that another person loves. I love the Pro-Score 100 Chocolate myself. But my sister hates it and likes the one's that taste like Kool-Aid. She's a lot cheaper than trying different protiens yourself at about $20 a bottle. Also, keep in mind, that after the first year, if you're proximal, you probably don't NEED to drink protien drinks. Just add up your protiens (1 oz. protien = 7 grams) and try to hit 60 grams per day. I keep the supplements around for those days I don't hit 60 grams, and then I consider it a "treat" because I add a lot of ice and make it into a "shake." Trust Vitalady, she knows what she's doing.

Your taste may vary. You may like what one person does now and after surgery you won't. You may like it one month then the next it may change slightly. I reccommend the Vita Lady also for the samples. I am 6 months post-op and I preferr. Optimum 100% Whey protein in Vanilla Ice cream flavor. I add two ice cubes to make it creamy. I add fruit sometimes for a change. Right after surgery it is hard to get in protein, so look for ones high in protein but low in sugar. The optimum comes from GNC. If you get something you don't like at GNC and save your reciept you can get your money back. I like that. You do have to buy a 2lb container or larger on all flavors.
