Question:
Has anyone used Dr Brenner in Fairfax, VA?

He is listed as a surgeon who does WLS surgery and he accepts TRICARE PRIME but I can find no comments on him. Would really like to hear from someone prior to making an appointment.    — Alanphier (posted on September 24, 2002)

Ann, there are several surgeons in our area that do the WLS. Brenner is not one I am familiar with. If you'd like the names of a few others I am familiar with (such as mine) or the docs that have one of the largest support groups in our area, please E-mail me (click on my name toget my E address).

He's not one I looked at when I was thinking about surgery... not sure how close you are to the DC area.. but I can't recommend Dr. Afram enough... he's fantastic... feel free to email me if you want to know more.

You can go to www.asbs.org (the national organization for bariatric surgeons) to find a surgeon in our area. I checked and Dr. Brenner is not listed as a member. That doesn't mean he's not a good surgeon, but you might want to really check him out before selecting. You can try my surgeon, he's the best, Dr. Denis Halmi and his associate Dr. Osvaldo Anez. Whoever you choose, make sure they have lots of experience and you are comfortable with them. Good luck.
