Question:
Does anybody know of Drs. in Dallas or Texas that do reversals?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! — Diana L. (posted on October 4, 2002)

Dana what sorts of problems are you having? Early on my wife Jen had a
terrible time. That was december, now she is doing well with the exception
of gall bladder trouble but has lost a 100 pounds. She is thrilled with her
WLS. Please tell us whats up so we can help. Reversals generally are only
done after a year or more of trouble, Having a reversal within months of
your original surgery adds risk and is really tough on the body.

Why are you wanting a reversal so soon after your surgery?? I can't
imagine going through another surgery so soon. Are you having problems?
Is it that you miss eating what you want? Your question does not state the
reasons why you are looking to do this, and I would be interested in
knowing why. Good luck to you, and I hope whatever it is, it is resolved
without additional surgery.

FOr the first 6-8 weeks after surgery, I would have jumped back on the
operating room table given just one opportunity. I am very glad that I have
waited it out. At 10 months post op, I can honestly say that I would do it
all agian in a heartbeat. If you truly want a reversal, I can almost
promise you that this soon after surgery, no doctor is going to do an
additional surgery that is not medically urgent. By the time that a doc
will agree to the surgery, I hope that you have gone through all of the
rough times and are learning to live wiht the changes that you have
undergone. Good luck to you.

Please explain what is going on with you? Is it emotional? You have to
know, by reading other posts, that it WILL get better. You have to stick
it out just a little longer. Think of how healthy you'll be and how great
you will look. Keep telling yourself you can make it through this time
when your emotions are all messed up. Please, if you can, share with us
why you want a reversal so soon?

Wow, I was reading the board and came along this question I posted almost 2
years ago. I can't believe it's still up. It's funny though. I wasn't wrong
then I'm back where I was. I want this surgery reversed. I've had too many
problems and in such poor health. I know I'd be a lot better off if I had
the surgery reversed. Not wanting to rain on anybody's parade but this
surgery DOES NOT work for everybody. It's a great thing and am exceedingly
happy for those that it does work for but it just doesn't for me. I was
better off before the surgery. I'm looking into to getting it reversed now
with local surgeons. I've waited like everybody suggested and with full
knowledge I'm having it reversed. Thanks for the support.

I am sorry to hear of your troubles, is the reversal for physical or mental
reasons? Your profile which is very out of date talks of mental
instability. Did you have to get a psych clearance before surgery? I
really hope you update your profile, and let us know whats up. Normally
reversals have to be for physical reasons, because theres always the chance
someone can be reversed, gain all the weight back, and it not solve the
mental troubles. That would be the worst combination of troubles:(

Dianna, I had a reversal done with Dr. Naaman in Houston, Texas -- he is
very good and one of the most well-known doctors for reversals in the
area.. call him, if your still looking for someone... He saved my life that
is for sure!!
