Question:
I know we never lose fat cells--unless they are cut out.

But can we get more fat cells? Do fat cells divide? Thanks to anyone who might know the answer to this question. The topic came up yesterday during an interview I was doing for a local TV station. Again, thanks.    — barbara A. (posted on October 24, 2003)

No you won't get new fat cells. I watched an show on liposuction on the health network a while back and that was discussed. It seems that after lipo if you gain back weight it will be in places where the fat cells have not been removed. If your stomach are lipo'ed then you will likely gain in your hips, buttocks, etc. Can leave you looking very odd.
