Question:
will stroke disqualify me?!

in 95' i was hit head on by a drunk driver broke my neck at c-2 wich caused an aneurysm wich caused a stroke wich caused paralysis on the left side of my body. the paralysis is fine and the aneurysm is gone, but im just worried that this will prevent me from getting wls because i was only 19 when it happened?! any ideas?!    — cynthia L. I had a stroke almost 3 years ago and had RNY last September. I was a self-pay for other reasons, but yes, you can have this surgery even if you have had a stroke. Your doctor just needs to work with your blood thinner/anticoagulants, your neurologist,and possibly a hematologist. Good luck. Jen D. (texas - there's 2 of us!)
