Question:
GUYS: Do men need plastic surgery (panni, TT, ...)?
I spent some time looking at before/after and profiles tonight and it doesn't seem like the men need plastic surgery. It could just be a coincidence for the ones I looked at, but it made me wonder. How could anyone avoid the extra skin after loosing so much? Do you guys need it? Curious minds.... — jen41766 (posted on August 25, 2002)

Well I sure need it! (Probally my insurance won't cover it and I can't
pay). But I'll get it if I can. Yeah, my thighs look... well it looks like
one lady said her loose skin looked: "like a scrotum without a
penis". That is EXACTLY like the inside of my thighs look. It's
hidious.
My legs look good in jeans, (not wide) but to look underneath there is
massive tons of skin hanging LOWWWWW. If I bend over slightly my stomach
hangs out like a "square cinder block". (I sware it looks EXACTLY
like that). And I sware I could take flight with my bat wings. And above my
pubic area, it's all "disformed" and sticks out like someone blew
it full of air. I look like a disaster naked. But hey, it is preferable to
being 319. I'm only 5'3 so that was to much to carry. Funny thing is,
thankfully, I don't look to bad in 34 jeans (was 56) and it covers my
hideous body. (Oh and my butt is still huge too- lol it beats crying). Bu
this is preferable to what it was, but now instead of crying over fat... I
want to cry over the horrible mess I have now. I doubt insurance will pay
for removeal. I have other health problems so I'm not employed so self pay
is out. But yes, I think guys still need skin removeal.

I look like a deflated baloon, but its not a big thing to me.. Perhaps most
men really dont worry about as much as woman aboiut their appearance?
Actually I shrunk back much better than expected. 313 to 192 in about 7
months, fastest to goal my surgeon had seen. I looked pretty bad but much
better now...thank goodness...

I too have alot of excess skin. I have lost 134# in 7months. I am going to
a plastic surgeon in Sept. I don't think that I'm ready for the surgery
just yet but, I am going to start the insurance process now and see how
long it takes to get approved. I figure rhat it should take 6-8 months and
by that time I will be ready.

IN 9.5 MONTHS I'VE LOST 230 POUNDS AND I HAVE ONE MORE MONTH OF A 2 MONTH
HOLD AT 195 POUNDS BEFORE I'LL SEE THE PLASTIC SURGEON,, MY DR. FIGURES
I'LL HAVE ANOTHER 20 TO 30 POUNDS OF SKIN REMOVED!! IT DIDN'T BOTHER ME AT
FIRST,, THE HANGING PANIS,, NOW IT DOES.. I LIFT IT UP AND MY LEGS EVEN
FEEL LIGHTER.. MY NECK AND ARMS ARE PULLING BACK IN,, BUT THAT STOMACH.. NO
WAY.. GOOD LUCK

Hi Jennifer, I am pre-op (surgery Nov.4, Yea!) and I too, have been looking
for b/a pictures of men with TT. I am absolutly positive I will have
RECONSTRUCTIVE abdominalplasty. I am interested in having my abd muscules
tightened in order to further support my back! I am gathering info to
fight ins. to cover procedure now, even though I'm still pre-op. I had a
bi-lateral masectomy in Oct2000 mainly for self esteem reasons. My chest
is flat, but look out for the gut! After WLS, I will have abdplsty for the
cosmetic reasons as well... Men are having procedures, however, plastic
surgeons are marketing to their primary customer...women. My plastic
surgeon has and will provide pictures of men with all types of procedures
upon request. Thanks for asking the question I've been thinking about for
