Question:
I'm 5 foot 7 inches 265 pounds looking for post ops that had same stats.

How fast did the weight come off? Am I considered a lightweight? Any for complications that are normal, thing like that.    — Christi S. (posted on August 29, 2002)

5'6" 277, shorter and heavier than you but close enough! The first 3 months out I lost an average of 16.5lbs a month. Now, personally I stalled at 90lbs. lost, however my exercise program is lacking. Still, I do not have any real issues with loose skin. If I want to lose this extra 45-50lb. it will all be up to me & Curves For Women.

I am 5'7" and started at 230. Not too much different than you. (Yes, we are considered lightweights). Anyways...I am now 10 months post and already at goal. Actually 1 pound under goal..I am now 134. I am in the process of trying to get approved for a tummy tuck, but that is all that is necessary. No other saggy baggy skin. I have never felt better!!! I am in a very loose size 10. I am sure after my tummy tuck I will easily be an 8. Good Luck!!

I'm 5'6" and started at 274. My Lap RNY was 9/17/01, 11 1/2 months ago, and I hit my goal of 150 TODAY. Went from a size 24/26 to size 8/10. Sitting here in my Old Navy size 8 capri pants. I've had no complications, have never thrown up, and have never felt better. Best of Luck to you!

I'm 5'3" and weighed 264, I'm 6 months post op and have lost 78 lbs. I just had a 1 1/2 month plateau that I finally broke, thank goodness, so it's picking up again! I can't complain, I know that as a lightweight I'll lose slower - but it's better than nothing! Two months after surgery I was hospitalized for over a week w/a serious staph infection. Bacteria entered through my incision and made me TERRIBLY sick, but other then that, nothing else has gone wrong!

I am 5'7" and started out at 260. I am 7 weeks post op today, and last week at my weigh in I had lost 43 lbs. I feel AWESOME!!! I haven't had any complications (unless you consider a 2 week plateau a complication..ha!ha!) Some people may consider my weightloss slow, but I am more than fine with it, in fact I am estatic!!!! Please feel free to email me if you have any other questions. Amy ([email protected])

I am 5' 7" and started at 265.....pretty close haha. Anyhow, I had surgery 10\3\01 so thats......11 months. I didnt write down my weight at certain stages and wish i had, but to the best of my memory....here goes. By christmas I was at 200# and in an 18 from a 24. By March i was 175 and in 16s. I hit 165 in May and stayed there till a couple weeks ago wearing a 12-14. For some odd reason I have started dropping weight again (not that i mind ) and have lost 8lbs in the past couple weeks. Now keep in mind that I never excersise (bad me) and I dont watch what I eat. I contribute the fact that Im still in 12's to that fact. Yes you are considered a lightweight and the complications i have had were my galbladder and an incredibly painful ulcer that I have been battling for several months now. I am sooooooooooooooo happy I did what I did. I see pictures of my from a year ago and already do not recognise the person in the pictures. Actually neither do my little kids...they say 'whos that'

I too started out at 267 a little different from you, and I went up to 271 the day I came home. I stand almost 5'7 just a slight shorter, about 5'6 and 3/4 lol. And today I weigh in at 150 that is 120+ lbs gone. Yeah!!!!! I lost kind of fast though. I have lots of excess skin...... Tummy tuck anyone????? lol
