Question:
How can I get a psych eval done in Columbus, OH when I am on medicaid?

OSU wants $600 for the eval! If I could afford that, I would not be on medicaid!    — Jodie-Beth B. (posted on July 7, 2005)

Jodie, Do you have to go to OSU? If not try any state funded mental health facility. Or try to call around to a few other psychologists to see if they except medicaid. The facility that is doing your surgery may have some insight as well into who might be able to do your eval since they know you are on medicaid. I am also on medicaid and am trying to get approval if you don't mind me asking how long did it take you to get approval and did they give you a great deal of greif in doing so? Please respond to my email and let me know anything you can if you don't mind [email protected] thanks for any help you may give me.

In Toledo, Catholic Charities takes Medicaid. If you just wanted to take a bus or come down for a day, you could probably get an evalution from one of the providers there. You should also ask your doctor if he/she can refer you to a therapist who takes Medicaid. Good Luck.
