Question:
Does the patch really work?

I have been a smoker for 21 years, and am having a tough time quitting. Does the patch really work, and how soon should I start using it? I can hardly afford cigaretts, so I roll my own, and the patch is not covered on my medical. Is there anyone out there that knows a way I can get help obtaining the patch. I am afraid that if I don't do something now, my PCP will not allow me to go through it. Roll your own cigaretts are much cheeper than the patch. Help. By the way, I would like to thank everyone who responded to my question about needing help with clothing. Thank you all very much and God Bless to everyone who walks the path to the other side of surgery. Please pray for me as I pray for all that take this journey. Thank you. Yes, absolutely the patch works! I smoked non stop for 35 years and they worked for me. My cig was the last thing I did at night and I woke in the middle of the night for a cig. It was the first thing I grabbed in the morning. I got the patches and I kept a drinking straw in my mouth just to have something there. I only went through a box and a half of the patches. If I can do it anyone can. Believe me!

It works. I'm using them now to prepare for my surgery next week. I've smoked off and on for 17yrs. I've rarely had a craving for a cigarette or extra food. The drug store brands work just as well as Nicoderm CQ, but they're less expensive.

Yes it does work. I smoked for 25 years and attribute my success to the patch . However,my doc would not prescribe it until he was sure I was ready...that is key!! You have to also wasnt to stop....I have friends who believed that the patch would magically cure them, whether they were ready or not....needless to say it didn't work. I found it quite funny that they would say to me "That patch is no good....do you know you have to take it off when you have a cigarette!!!" Duhhhhhhh????
