Question:
Has anyone had intestinal bypass surgury done and then reversed and been accepted

I had it done and when it was reversed I also had stomach stapling done, which failed 6months later. Recently I went to Dr Jossart for consultation and was told that due to the scaring that I would not be able to have the surgury done lap.    — dennis B. (posted on January 6, 2002)

LAP in revisions depends on how extensive the original surgerys scaring was, and your surgeons skill. I know a friend who had the surgery the same day as my wife jen. Her LAP was successful, but the surgery took longer, but was performed LAP. She could of woke up and found herself converted to open, as any lap patient can.

I don't think it was the types of surgeries you had, so much as the fact that you've had a couple. Every time someone pokes around in there, scar tissue forms, more adhesions form and for many of us, we just end up with everything kind of "glued" together and covered with cob-webby like growths. I note you said they would not do you LAP, not that they would not do you. I've known people to have as many as EIGHT revisions, but eventually, they had to be open, due to the body's effort to "protect" itself.
