I have heard that Dr. Benitez from US Bariatrics has left? Does anyone know if he is

I think he might have moved to their Celebration office near Orlando.

He is still with U.S. Bariatrics, but is now with their Celebration office near Orlando.

I think he actually left. I had my 3 month f/u scheduled with him on 3/27 and they called me to reschedule. Dr. Diaz is their surgeon who is in the process of moving to Celebration, at least according to the info at last Sundays support group and who I will be seeing in Celebration on Monday. Incidently Dr. Benitez's practice address with the state is listed as Ft. Myers, looks like it might be the Cleveland Clinic there.

I had my follow-up with US Bariatrics three weeks ago, but I saw Dr. Diaz rather than Dr. Benitez. According to the staff, Dr. Benitez is no longer with US Bariatrics and has joined a practice in Ft. Myers. Since you are in Estero, that means he is very close to your location. Good luck. I really liked Dr. Benitez. FYI - he underwent WLS himself at the skilled hands of Dr. Marema about a year ago and has lost a lot of weight as of the last time I saw him in late 2002.

you guys are right. I went to their web site and Benitez is not there. Wonder what happened. He was a definite roll model.

Yes,indead Dr. Benitez has moved to Ft. Myers. I attended his seminar last night at Southwest Regional Hospital. We are so lucky to have him.
