Question:
Seeking Detailed Information About Doctors In Houston Texas

As a nurse, I realize in every field there are "good", "ok" and "bad" doctors out there. Most are doctors fall in the first two catagories but some don't. I would appreciate direct emails from anyone who has any information regarding excessive complication rates or other problems with surgeons in Houston.    — Carol H. (posted on June 25, 2003)

Dr Carlos Ferrarri is awesome. Check out his website - he has performed thousands of bariatric surgeries.

I work in a PCP office. I've heard horror stories about Dr. Wongsa's office and his response to problems after surgery or slow losers. I checked out a number of surgeons. Then I checked out hospitals. I discovered most docs do surgery at Hermann-Memorial - Memorial City. Most of the posts on this site about that hospital have been that it's terrible. Then I looked up Houston Northwest Medical Center. I've had experience with that hospital and it got great comments on this site. So then I checked into surgeons who performed WLS there. I chose Dr. Phillip Leggett. I have been VERY impresses with him and his office. Since I work in the medical field, I'm pretty particular about physicians and their offices. Good luck!

Dr. Jayakumar with Neweigh is awesome. Very friendly, took lots of time to answer any and all of my questions, has told me to call him at Neweigh or his private practice office if I have any questions at all. I live in San Antonio and it has been more than worth the 3 hour drive to see him. Surgery 5/6/03 -35lbs.
