Question:
What exactly are fills?

I do not remember any questions like this but I am fairly certain they are referring to fills that a person who had the AGB - Adjustable Gastric Band, gets to create greater restriction for continued weight loss/control. It's really a pretty neat concept - a way to modify the effects of the surgery without another surgery.

Hi Claire. A "fill" is what they do to people that have the lap band. They have a little port under their skin for the surgeons to fill up with or take away saline (I think?) to control the restriction of their new little pouches. :) Hope this helps!

A "fill" (sometimes called an "adjustment") is a procedure performed by the surgeon on his patient who has had Laproscopic Adjustable Gastric Band surgery. Saline is injected into the "port" which is implanted under the skin during the lap band surgery. You can either have saline injected (which causes the stomach opening to be more restricted) or decreased (causing less restriction). It is a term only used when referring to people who have had lap band surgery.
