Question:
Can anyone help me find a surgeon that will take medicaid ?
I have been told by medicaid to find a surgeon to evauate me and contact them. I have tried several Doctors and none of them will take medicaid. In the mean time my weight is increasing and my health is declining. Can anyone out there help me? — Debra H. (posted on April 8, 2005)

I was lucky because Wisconsin state insurance covered mine. Dr. Kothari
in La Crosse WI did my surgery. Good Luck

I dont know what state youre in but Im having the same problem here in
florida, as far as no surgeon in my city will take medicaid. However I
called medicaid and they told me if my primary doctor sent the request to
medicaid and said the surgery was medically necessary then they would find
me a surgeon that took medicaid, in another city. Maybe you could call
medicaid and ask about that. Good luck!!

Medicaid is paying for my physc eval and nutrisionist...and of course my
RnY LOL . I live in North Carolina. I see on your profile that you live in
Texas so this may not help you all. Good luck to you!!

In New York, go to the CORI Centers and they take any insurance. They got
me approved with medicaid within 2 weeks. I went in on March 23, 2005 and
had my surgery done on April7, 2005. The only reason I didnt have it sonner
was becuz of the EGD that needed to be donr. They are awesome and they work
with you and your insurances.
