Question:
Pre-Surgery (1 week): Is it ok to keep taking vitamins and vit. C/zinc?

Just wondering. I know I'm not suppose to take aspirin 2 weeks prior to surgery (thins blood I think) but realized I was taking vitamins with C and zinc. Are these ok to continue (surgery on 1/24)? Thanks, Tina    — Tina C. (posted on January 14, 2001)

I was told to take 2 multivitamins per day during the week prior to my surgery, but not to take any aspirin, extra vitamin E, or herbal supplements. I was told vitamin E in large doses can thin the blood too, but I don't remember what the problem was with herbals. If you are taking anything that you are unsure of, make sure to ask your doctor.
