Question:
Heart clearance?

I've just found out that I need to have a cardiac clearance. For others that needed to have this done, what does this involve? Thanks.    — [Anonymous] (posted on January 28, 2001)

For me it was the fact that I had a treadmill back in May00 and I had a pre -op EKG and that was it My history was @ 41 I had a 4 way by pass and a couple of years after that I angiplasti and 5 yrs after that I had a stint which seems to have done the job.I am know 13 days post -op and doing well goodluck. I was required to have cardiac clearance because I take Coumadin and Lanoxin for a minor vavle abnormality. My EKG was normal, but the surgeon wanted to cover his butt by getting clearance from my cardiologist. The cardiologist ran an Echo test (ultasound). That was clear so he cleared me.
