Question:
pre-ops

I'm having surgery on May 15 and haven't had my last pre-op meeting with Dr. Lirio yet but I was wondering how soon before my time of surgery do I need to be there? Any of Dr. Lirios patients out there? Lorraine    — Lorraine L. (posted on April 21, 2001)

Hi Lorraine, Dr Lirio did my surgery on October 12, 2000. (I am down 112 pounds) The time they give you is the time you should arrive not the actual surgery time. It takes them awhile to prepare you. I was told to be there at noon but I don't think they actually took me in for my surgery for 30 to 45 minutes. Prepare your family who will be waiting for you in the waiting room that the surgery does take awhile. I wasn't out of surgery until 6:30 and my husband was getting nervous.
