Question:
Do you have to bring your own vitamins with you to take in the hospital?

I'm just wondering if you take your own vitamins in the hospital or do they provide them. If they provide, in what form is it given? -Chewable? -I.V. drip?    — lalasmommy (posted on May 11, 2001)

I didn't start taking my sugar free chewable vitamins until I went home from the hospital. You should be OK till you get home.

You don't need 'em quite that fast. They will mix your special formula right into your Bedside Cocktail (IV)!

My specific instructions were to NOT take any vitamins until my 2 week check-up. Then I was to start on 2 children's chewable vitamins every day. You probably won't need to worry about taking the vitamins to the hospital. Your surgeon will give you instructions. shelley

You should really ask your surgeon, as each one varies.... I had the open DS and I wasn't perscribed my vitamins until my 6 week check up. At that point, they are just regular form...your basic pill (Niferex PN Forte). I have a list of what to take to the hospital here: http://www.mywls.com/Pre-Op/Hospital_Packing/hospital_packing.html. Speedy recovery!
