when do you have your surgery sceduled?

Totally depends on the surgeon. I had a consult in Feb. and then he had me go for a physical with my PCP and a psych eval. Until those were completed and it was approved by insurance, they would not schedule me. However, they received a "yes" from insurance and scheduled me a week and a half later! I would suggest asking their office and they will be able to give you a timeline.

It totally depends on your insurance co. I started this whole process in January, I have BC/BS and they needed several steps to be completed in order to be approved (May6,2002) and when I was, my Dr. was scheduling 3 months out (August 6, 2002 Open RNY). My boss on the other hand started out the process after me, but she has Medica and she was told May 1, 2002 that her surgery date was May 21, 2002. It just totaly depends on what your Dr.'s schedule is. Good Luck!

After I saw my surgeon we set up a date right away because I am a student and he was trying to work around my school schedule. I haven't been approved by my insurance co. yet but my surgery date is July 30th!! I am just hoping all goes well with my ins. co! Good luck.
