Question:
Not really a question.....

There is now a birth control patch called Ortho Evra! For those of us who like the pill and don't want kids! Anyway, just like the pill except you change it once a week for 3 weeks and then off for one week. And we don't have to worry about the absorption problem! They have a website for more information...www.orthoevra.com    — Kendra A. (posted on April 30, 2002)

Thanks for the info, Kendra! I didn't want to get the Depo Provera injections since they make you gain weight so this is wonderful news. I'm definitely going to look into these patches.

Is this like the other patch that's out? If so, then they are less effective on women that weigh over 190 lbs.

I had a hysterectomy when I was 28.. they put my on a weekly patch for hormone replacement.. I thought, cool.. only have to worry about once a week.. no pills to take.. Yippy.. well, i hated it.. imagine what a bandaide looks like after a week.. after taking showers.. it gets that nasty ring of dirt and dead skin around it.. if you are lucky it actually stays on for the entire week... but, This was just my experience.. others may have a different experience....

Thank you for the update. I had heard that a patch was in the approval phase, but I figured it would be years before it was on the market. I can't wait to try it.
