Question:
Is the post-op recovery period time off of work usually covered by Disability?

Hi, I've been doing quite a bit of research and the one topic I've never seen discussed is whether or not the time you miss off of work following the operation is covered by short or long term disability. I don't think I could miss 2 or 3 weeks worth of paychecks. I also don't believe my job would give me the time off if it wasn't classified as disibility. Any info on this would be helpful. Dozita~~I would refer to your company's policy regarding STD. STD policies tend to be different from company to company. You should be able to contact your HR dept. or referr to the company's Policies & Procedures (P&P) a correct answer.

I received 6 weeks of state disability while I was off work. I live in California.

i was out of work for 7 weeks and it was all approved and covered by short-term disability. although i guess different companies could have different rules. good luck!
