Question:
How long does it take to heal internally

How long after ryn does it take to heal internally. My incision 1 1/2 weeks after an open ryn seems to be healing nicely. But it is the inside I wonder about. I know everyone is different but input sure would be appreciated.    — Maureen C. (posted on April 26, 2003)

I asked my doctor this question last week I am 5 weeks post-op. He said in and outside heal the same if you are looking good on the outside you are usually doing well on the inside too. Best of Luck. Diana

My ob and my WLS surgeon both told me it takes nearly a full year for a body to completely recover from major surgery.

HI~ My Surgeon said it takes 6 months for your stomach to completly heal on the inside, and about a year until your pouch stretches to the size it's going to stay around 6-8ozs.
