When do they ask for insurance approval?

After you see the surgeon they will request the authorization. You can really speed up the process by finding out exactly what your company wants and bringing it or having it sent to your surgeon ahead of time. That way, when they request the auth they will have everything and not need to wait for requests for additional documentation which is what really drags it out.
