Question:
My hair has been thinning since about 4 months it is starting to come back but very

very slowly. Problem is I cannot do a thing with it If I put a relaxer it may start falling out again. I considered braiding but that can be a strain on the hair also. My hair is very soft and frizzes easily. I need a relaxer bad and I don't know what to do as far a styling options????? help    — Marcia M. (posted on July 14, 2003)

I lost alot of hair around that same time. It has started to come back but very slowly as you said. I have fine hair to begin with so you could see my scalp in places. I had to change my part to hide thin spots, my husband said I was doing a comb over. I would be careful with any chemicals, maybe even ask a pro first. I did color mine and now that it is coming back in the gray is taking over, but it shows that it is coming in.

Marcia- Go to a professional. They will know the best style for your hair and can recommend what to do. I agree about watching the chemicals. I'm 13 mos out and my hair is still coming back in. But to my shock it is gray :( so I have an appointment to have it colored. My stylist thinks at this far out the chemicals will be okay.

Check to see if your stylist uses the new ceramic flat irons and press your hair for the time being.
